for everyone
AN AFTERNOON WITH KOBE

I’m not much of a Kobe fan and so is my son . However, since we already have the tickets (thanks Coach Eric) and the novelty of seeing an NBA player face-to-face sounds like a good idea, we went to the ULTRA (Phil Sports Arena) the other day.

He taught 7 young players some drills and put them to work. It was pretty intense. He had them run, shoot, dribble, spin, slide, cut and everything else an intense workout should have. But at the end, the crowd was egging him to show some of his ‘stuff’. They wanted him to do some dunks.

I didn’t think he’d do it. Why? Because he’s Kobe Bryant. He didn’t need to prove that he was who he was. The crowd knew that he was Kobe. And Kobe knew he was Kobe so there was no need to prove it.

But in the spirit of fun, he gave in. He did a couple of windmills, 360’s and a dunk over 2 players.

When the enemy attacks with condemnation and accuses that I am really not who God says I am, I sometimes give in. But I thank God for His word. It’s something I can stand on.

My identity is not hinged on my performance. Neither is it hinged on my past. It is hinged on who Christ is, what He did and because of that I am who I am today.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

Kobe's an amazing player... People pay real good money to see him play. Sad fact is, he hasn't done a bit of anything for this site owner's welfare. But, Jesus has. So, even more amazing is this site owner's perspective. Great article, bro... Kudos... Bravo Zulu... and God bless.

Siyanga pala.... MJ was a great individual basketball talent. But many of us here believe Kobe to be MUCH better. --- MJ would not have been as productive against the folks KOBE played against. Ex: If you were MJ, who would you have rather played against, John Stockton or Ron Artest? Byron Scott or Bruce Bowen ? ----- What do you all think?
